EMF’s or electromagnetic fields are a type of radiation that is emitted from many electrical devices. They can be harmful to you and your baby if they are too strong, but there isn’t enough research done on the subject yet.
To most people, electromagnetic fields (EMFs) are nothing more than a nuisance. They turn on appliances and find that the lights go dim or they receive an annoying phone call from their neighbor complaining about the electricity usage of their house. However, for pregnant women, emf and pregnancy can pose a serious threat to not only themselves but also their unborn child. This is especially true if they live in close proximity to high voltage power lines or electrical substations which emit strong magnetic fields. If you’ve been feeling ill lately and haven’t been able to pinpoint what’s wrong with you, it may be due to your exposure to these types of EMFs during your pregnancy.
Are emf and pregnancy harmful?
Are you pregnant and worried about the safety of your unborn child? With all of the conflicting information out there on whether or not cell phones, wifi routers and other forms of radiation are harmful to emf and pregnancy, it can be difficult for a mom-to-be to know what is best for her baby. While we cannot say that emf’s (electromagnetic fields) are 100% safe during pregnancy, we do know some things: they don’t cause autism, they won’t make you miscarry, and most importantly – scientific studies have consistently shown no evidence that emf exposure causes harm to humans.
